Noosa is certainly having its moment in the sun.

Last week a property at Teewah Beach sold for $10.5 million, a record price.
The property has 470m of beach frontage and views over Noosa's five bay.

This week a sale of a Wyuna Drive property at $11.9 million toppled that record. But even this record is not set to last with fresh interest in Pat Rafters $18 million Sunshine Beach home.

Local agents report that Europeans and interstate buyers are attracted to the high quality and safe environment.
With the natural assets of beaches, lakes, river, restaurants and shopping there is something for everyone.

Tom Offermann , local agent said" its not just the prestige properties that buyers are targeting, there are good opportunities at all price levels".
He said "the top performing suburbs were Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Little Cove and Sunshine Beach."

Core Logic reports Outstanding Capital Growth

Property markets around the country may be slowing but not in the Noosa region. The Sunshine Coast has experienced growth rates of 6.6%, according to the latest Core Logic report.

The median sale price in Noosa Heads rose by 13.7% in 2016/2017, to $895,000, in Cooran it rose by 11.8% to $397,000, Doonan 10.6% to $785,000 and Sunshine Beach by 10% to $1,160,000.

Noosa Council approved 99% of planning applications last financial year.
Sometimes seen as a organisation that is pro development there were only six applications rejected by council.
As seen elsewhere nothing is the 'norm' anymore with approvals included a boutique brewery,a chocolatier and two aquaculture businesses.

Sunshine Coast International Airport

For an early Christmas present the Federal Government has approved a $181 million concessional loan for the Sunshine Coasts International Airport. The Sunshine Coast Council has undertaken an expressions of interest process to identify its preferred partner.
The announcement of the partner is expected before Christmas.

With commencement starting early 2017, the project will generate $4.1 billion in economic benefit to the region from 2020-2040.
The new runway will accommodate aircrafts the size of an Airbus A330 or a Boeing 787 and with international status granted it means Customs and Border Patrol have also been budgeted for.

Noosa and Sunshine Coast Tourism will not only benefit from the international visitors but the flip side is locals will enjoy a broader range of destinations flying out of the Coast.
